Our Vision

Dear Church Body,

Leah and I are currently pursuing the Lord's will for our future ministry through short term mission trips. We have long felt a call to missions and seek to see what the Lord is doing on a global scale through these trips. Our first destination is the Philippines to observe the ministry of Faith Academy in Manila from June 1^st through the 23^rd. While we are there we will be serving at the SIL Missions Conference in Bagabag. Our primary ministry will be to help run a daytime program for the Middle School aged children of parents who are attending the conference. I will be the primary teacher, and will use the story of Pilgrim's Progress to tie in with the conference theme of "One Day" every tribe and nation worshiping together in Heaven.

We are hoping to not only serve the missionaries by teaching their kids for the 10 days we are there, but we are also hoping to see what the Lord is doing around the world as we interact with Missionaries from all over. In addition, we are hoping to tie in this missions trip with our Jr High Ministry here at Faith Community Church. It is our goal to set up correspondence between some of our Jr High students here with some of the Missionary kids over there. I have recently completed a unit in my Tuesday Night Youth Group on John Piper's book Let the Nations be Glad. At the end of this unit several of the students said that they would like to consider God's call to be missionaries. I am hoping that this correspondence will be a step in that direction. Also, we are hoping to observe the ministry of Pastor Noel when we return to Manila after the missions conference is over.

Hopefully you all are getting an idea of the burden the Lord has laid on Leah and my heart for this summer. That said it would be my request that you pray for the following, both leading up to and during our trip:

1) Pray for the hearts of the Missionary Kids we will be ministering to. That they would be open and receptive to the Lord's Word, and that it would make a lasting impact on their lives

2) Pray for my effectiveness in delivering the Word.

3) Pray for Leah and My unity and effectiveness with the Body in Bagabag as we minister together.

4) Pray for opportunities to exhort and encourage the local Christians.

5) Pray for the Lord's direction as we see the many ways He is working around the world.

6) Pray for our witness to the Filipinos that we interact with. There are nationals on staff in Bagabag that we will have daily interaction with.

7) Pray for traveling mercies. As we will be taking a 15 hour plane ride with both our 3 year old and our 18 month old.

8) Pray for effective time management before we leave as I end school on the 30^th and we leave on the 31^st. I have to be completely checked out the last day of school, which I have never done before.

I know that all of the things I have asked for prayer for resonate with my Savior's heart and will. I also know that I have the petitions I have made of Him (I Jn 5:15). I am confident also that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16). So I would beseech you all to pray for us as we seek to minister to the Church Body in the Philippines.
